Alliance expands advocacy efforts

As the Alliance heads in to our 101st year, we’re excited to announce the continued growth and expansion of our advocacy efforts on behalf of Waukesha County businesses. For years, advocacy has been a core focus of the Alliance as we work to provide a clear and persuasive voice for the business community and advocate for business-friendly legislation at the local, state and federal levels.

As we celebrated our centennial last year, the Alliance board of directors set several strategic focuses for the next three years. One of those is to continue strengthening the organization’s advocacy capabilities. The Alliance has long been proud to serve as the voice of business in Waukesha County and beyond, keeping our members informed about important issues that impact your organization and the local business climate.

As we expand our efforts to advocate on your behalf and ensure a growing, vibrant business community, the Alliance has also registered to lobby in the state of Wisconsin. This gives Alliance staff the ability to communicate regularly with legislators on important issues and policy areas that have been identified by our policy board and policy committees. We’re excited to continue expanding and strengthening our advocacy capabilities to serve our more than 1,200 members.

We encourage our members to get involved and support our efforts to ensure a strong, pro-business climate in Waukesha County and its surroundings. If you are interested in joining a policy committee, please contact us. If you’re not able to join a committee and actively participate, know that we’re working on your behalf to advocate for business-friendly legislation at the local, state and federal levels.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers introduced his first budget a few weeks ago. If you’re interested in learning more about both the Republican and Democratic priorities and perspectives on the Governor’s budget, we’d encourage you to attend the Alliance upcoming State and Federal Policy Briefing on March 27.
