Congratulations to the 2018 Don Richards Leadership Award winner!

Congratulations to Jim Walden, attorney for Walden & Schuster, on being named the 2018 Don Richards Leadership Award winner.

Don Richards was publisher of The Milwaukee Business Journal and president of the Board of the Waukesha Area Chamber of Commerce (now the Alliance) in 1993. Don’s hands-on leadership, ethics and delight in achieving tangible results left a lasting impression on our leaders today. The Don Richards Leadership Award was created in his honor in 1993 to inspire and motivate business people to take community leadership roles.

Recipients for this prestigious award are selected based on their vision for the communities in which they serve, their impact and their ability to involve others in the leadership process.

Jim Walden has been practicing business and real estate law for over 20 years in Waukesha and Milwaukee. His involvement in many community activities uniquely positions him to understand the Waukesha County business community and how to effectively negotiate on behalf of his business and real estate clients. He served as president of the Waukesha County Chamber of Commerce in 1994 and now serves as the Alliance’s legal counsel. In fact, he has served in this position for many years and is only the second legal counsel in the organization’s history.

Jim also serves on the board of directors for the Waukesha Memorial Hospital Foundation, Catholic Memorial High School and the Waukesha County Community Foundation.

Jim Walden will be honored at the Waukesha County Business Alliance’s 100th Annual Meeting on September 13 at the Waukesha County Expo Center. In honor of the Don Richards Leadership Award, the Milwaukee Business Journal donates $500 to the charity or fund of the winner’s choice. Jim Walden has asked that it goes towards the Waukesha County Center for Growth.
