Waukesha County Business Alliance congratulates Milwaukee on hosting the 2020 Democratic National Convention

The Waukesha County Business Alliance, Inc. congratulates the city of Milwaukee on being chosen as the host site for the 2020 Democratic National Convention (DNC), which will provide an economic boost and national exposure for the entire region.

“A win for Milwaukee is a win for Waukesha County and vice versa,” said Suzanne Kelley, president and CEO of the Waukesha County Business Alliance. “We’re all working together to build a strong region in southeast Wisconsin.”

The Milwaukee bid committee estimates the convention will have a $200 million impact and bring 50,000 visitors to the region. In addition, the DNC reportedly needs 15,000 hotel rooms and there are 5,000 hotel rooms in downtown Milwaukee. There will be 3,500 hotel rooms along the I-94 corridor alone in Waukesha County at the time of the convention, which is within 20 minutes of downtown. It is clear opportunity exists for areas to benefit outside of downtown Milwaukee.

The Alliance is a non-partisan organization and does not endorse political candidates.
