More Than 1,000 Students Discovered Careers in Health Care

Over 1,000 students from schools throughout Waukesha County and the region gathered at Waukesha County Technical College on Tuesday, March 3 for the Alliance’s annual Discover Health Care Expo. The event provided an engaging, hands-on introduction to careers in the health care industry.

Throughout the day, students interacted with health care professionals, industry leaders, and post-secondary institutions. Career areas highlighted included patient care, nursing, behavioral health, surgery, ultrasound, dental, and more. From practicing CPR and reading x-ray screens to exploring nursing pathways and nutrition education, students experienced firsthand the many pathways available within the industry. Many students also had the opportunity to observe blood donation procedures and connect directly with industry experts, reinforcing the critical role health care plays in our community.

The Discover Health Care Expo is part of the Alliance’s broader commitment to workforce development and strengthening Waukesha County’s talent pipeline. By partnering with educators, employers, and post-secondary institutions, the Alliance works to ensure students are aware of local career opportunities and equipped with the skills needed to thrive in high-demand industries.
