The Alliance joined Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC) and the Department of Workforce Development/Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards (DWD) on Monday, June 19 to celebrate the launch of a new Mechatronics Registered Apprenticeship program.

Building on national support to expand apprenticeships, the United States Department of Labor awarded $5 million to the Department of Workforce Development to fund the Wisconsin Apprenticeship Growth and Enhancement Strategies (WAGE$) grant. The grant, which is part of the American Apprenticeship Initiative, includes training 1,000 new apprentices across 12 occupations in 3 sectors, including Advanced Manufacturing.

The Alliance and our member manufacturing companies are proud to support this new apprenticeship program in Waukesha County! More information about the WAGE$ grant is available here and information about the Wisconsin Apprenticeship program is available here.

The first Mechatronics apprenticeship at WCTC will launch this fall. To learn more, contact Richard Badger at 262-695-7778 or richardm.badger@dwd.wisconsin.gov.
