One-on-One with Public Officials
We invite you to join us for coffee and an informal meeting with public officials, including local, state or federal leaders. You will get a chance to sit down one-on-one with a government official who impacts where you work and live.
Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R – Juneau) will discuss priorities and accomplishments of the 2019-2020 legislative session, and provide an early Fall election preview; including how Senate races are shaping up in the state.

Darling and Rep. Nygren will discuss the impact to Wisconsin’s finances as a result of COVID-19 and what next steps the legislature may take as a result.

Join Wisconsin State Representative Rob Hutton, Assembly District 13 (R – Brookfield) for a fall legislative update. Rep. Hutton serves as chair of the Committee on International Affairs and Commerce and vice chair of the Committee on Corrections and Joint Review Committee on Criminal Penalties. Representative Hutton will provide an update on the past few months as well as discuss his legislative priorities and what to expect in 2021.

UW System Interim President and former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson will provide an update on the UW System. Governor Thompson is a well-known champion of Wisconsin’s public universities, and he has called for a renewal of the Wisconsin Idea, the principle that the UW System serves all parts of the state. As a former U.S. Secretary for Health and Human Services (HHS), Governor Thompson’s health policy experience is critical as universities respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. He chairs the UW System Business Council and helped lead a public-private campaign to fund UW-Madison’s BioStar Initiative with the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation.
