Congratulations to Matt Neumann, CEO of Neumann Companies, on being named one of our 2019 Emerging Leaders of Waukesha County!

These awards celebrate young professionals who live or work in Waukesha County and who have shown personal initiative, determination and commitment to their careers and their community. The eight winners will receive their awards during YPWeek at the Emerging Leaders of Waukesha County awards luncheon on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Embassy Suites in Brookfield. Matt has been working in real estate development, home building and solar development for 14 years. He graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran College with a bachelor’s degree in business economics, then received an MBA in marketing and finance from Marquette University. Matt is a second-generation family business owner of Neumann Companies, which has grown to become a family of companies that includes Tim O’Brien Homes, SunVest Solar, Harbor Homes and more. Matt fully understands and is committed to a long-term approach to business growth and investment. His philosophy is that investing in people and the communities in which we work is the best way to run a sustainable business. Matt’s business teams have been widely recognized both nationally and locally for their success over the years. Matt is active in his church and other charities, and remains committed to living, working and investing in Wisconsin’s future.

Favorite part of your job: Working with our teams and the communities in which we work

If you could tell someone why it’s important to be involved in the community in one sentence, what would you say? Our communities support us, and it’s our opportunity to do the same in return.

Favorite thing about living/working in Waukesha County/southeast Wisconsin: Simply stated, it’s the best place to live, work and raise a family being in the middle of our two largest metro areas in the state.

Favorite movie or book: None, I always fall asleep!

Favorite food: All flavors of pizza!

Something unique about you: I’ve hit 2 holes-in-one

One thing you couldn’t live without: My wife, Amy

What was your first job? Landscaping

If you could do another job for just one day: CEO of the Packers

Three best words to describe you: Energetic, Fun, Motivating

In your opinion, what makes a great leader? Being more excited to serve than lead.

What drives you to succeed? My family: wife and 4 young kids and faith in God.

What is the most pressing issue facing our area and why? Affordable housing, because we have a ton of jobs that need to be filled, but filling them requires affordable housing solutions so our workforce can live in the communities that they work.

What is your favorite saying or word? Work hard, play hard.
