Lead partnership efforts between K-12 education, higher education, business/industry, and the community to help strengthen Waukesha County school districts’ college and career/workforce readiness efforts. Support business/industry needs and support them with access to talent to help drive the economic engine of the county, region, state, and beyond.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Work in partnership with the Director of Talent Development to implement the “develop” tenant of the Workforce Development strategy
• Convene K-12 district leaders to support business/industry needs by helping develop career-based learning experiences that align students’ skills with workforce demands and support the students’ academic and career plans
• Cultivate existing and develop new partnerships with education, business/industry and the community to drive economic growth in Waukesha County
• Work with schools and businesses to plan, promote, coordinate and execute career-based learning experiences for students
• Create and maintain an up-to-date repository of business/industry partners that provide youth apprenticeships, internships and other career-based learning experiences
• Oversee and implement Alliance business/education partnership programs such as Schools2Skills™, Careers Uncovered, Career Expos, Connecting Counselors and more
• Lead the Alliance’s Education Steering Council and related subcommittees
• Lead the Alliance’s Health Care Employer Collaborative
• Create and launch business/education bootcamps for Alliance members

Other
• Represent the Alliance at various community/county/state programs and events pertaining to business/education partnerships
• Serve on advisory boards and panels for school districts, partnering organizations, state organizations and post-secondary institutions
• Assist and engage with other regional stakeholders efforts that align with the Alliance’s mission and vision
• Assist in preparing budgets for business/education partnerships
• Prepare information for board and committee meetings (as needed)
• Support solicitation of sponsorships (as needed)
• Attend industry and professional development events to gain expertise, knowledge and ideas to implement at the Alliance
• Contribute to the Alliances member retention process
• Assist Alliance team members as needed on any and all projects
• This position supports both the Waukesha County Business Alliance and the Waukesha County Center for Growth business/education initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or a two-year technical degree in a related field preferred
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience
• Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite; Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word

• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time with a high-level attention to detail and timelines
• Budget creation and management

Position Reports To: Director, Talent Development
This position is a full-time, salaried position. The hours to be worked will generally take place between 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday, and must be able to attend early morning, evening and weekend events and programs as needed.
