    Waukesha County Technical College, the leader in workforce development, prepares learners for success within the region and global economy. The College offers more than 150 areas of study including associate degree, technical diploma, apprenticeship and short-term certificate programs. Customized training for employers is also available. WCTC boasts a student-learning-centered environment that puts learners at the forefront, making their education a priority.     Business Information Technology

    Business Information Technology programs focus on preparing learners for a fast-paced and ever-changing business world, with curriculum that mirrors industry needs. Programs focus on:

    • Cyber security
    • Virtualization
    • Network infrastructure
    • Mobile application development
    • Software development
    • Computer support

    Students can also earn industry certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft MCTS, CompTIA A+ and Security+, Cisco CCNA and VMware vSphere Configuration.




    With the recent award of a Department of Labor grant, WCTC has been able to provide expanded Network Enterprise Administrator program offerings, along with additional career-focused events.  The expanded program is:

    • An accelerated, hybrid format
    • A technical diploma built on four certificates earned within four semesters
    • Designed for veterans, under- and unemployed individuals, and adult learners seeking new skills

    The Business Information Technology department, in partnership with the Business Alliance and Workforce Development board, will in August host the Cyber Security Summit. The event will bring a stronger understanding of how cyber security affects all business and industry. The event will feature:

    • A law enforcement panel of experts specializing in cybercrimes, and a panel of cyber security specialists spanning differing industry segments.
    • Keynote speaker Matt Luallen, president of CYBATI and Dragos Security, who will speak on the skillsets required for successful security business practice.

    Did you know...?

    • The College’s IT student center has provided more than 5000 hours of resources and support for more than 700 individual students in the past year.
    • The College’s IT program students participate in many fun educational experiences, such as the Collegiate Cyber Defense competition, a Java SmackDown with local high school partners.
    • A group of WCTC IT program students is currently participating in the Tri-Country International program, which includes trips to Germany and Ireland.
    • WCTC offers nine certificates, one technical diploma and three associate degrees within IT.
