For 108 years, GE’s Waukesha gas engines facility has been both a pioneer and a continuous innovator in advancing America’s manufacturing industry. With a reputation for rugged durability in mission-critical applications, Waukesha gas engines have been manufactured in Wisconsin since 1906, and the business currently employs nearly 700 skilled workers as part of GE’s Distributed Power business. More than 25,000 engines are installed around the world in 100+ countries, providing power solutions to energize nations, build industries and improve lives everywhere.
As gas-powered reciprocating engines, Waukesha gas engines range in power output from 120 kW – 3,605 kW (160 bhp – 4,835 bhp). The engines run on a wide range of fuels, including variable quality field gas.
Waukesha gas engines are used globally to provide mechanical and electrical power in a variety of applications, including oilfield power generation to power drilling rigs, gas compression to move natural gas down pipelines, and for industrial power.
