Combined, the companies honored in the 2011 Top 10 Businesses of the Year program generate more than $873 million in annual revenues and employ more than 2000 people.

The companies were honored at the Waukesha County Business Alliance’s annual awards luncheon co-presented by BizTimes Media LLC at the Country Springs Hotel on June 9.

This year’s Top 10 Businesses are:

The finalists were selected by an independent panel of judges based upon criteria that included financial growth, employee growth, customer focus, employee relations and community service.

“This year’s Top 10 winners illustrate why southeastern Wisconsin is leading the economic recovery of our state,” said Suzanne Kelley, president of the Waukesha County Business Alliance. “Our winning companies represent an excellent cross section of commerce in this region, including power distribution, printing, manufacturing, beer distribution, client services and small business.

“These very different businesses have one thing in common – being the best in class.  From the products and services they deliver to their commitment to building strong employee teams to the value they place on community service, our Top 10 winners are leaders in their respective fields,” Kelly said. “We are proud to celebrate the achievements of these exceptional companies and recognize their contribution to making Waukesha County and the broader M7 region a great place to work and live. These companies exemplify the best of what it means when we say, – ‘Wisconsin is open for business!’”

Dan Meyer, publisher of BizTimes Milwaukee, said, “It was not easy to pick the winners from a strong cast of nominees this year, but these companies stand out because of the way they are committed to their customers, their employees and the community. These companies not only survived the recession, they are collectively helping to push the regional economy forward. We all can learn lessons from the best practices of these bold companies.”
